name dominion of death haunted house & corn maze est 2012-2015 (amateur) 2015-present (professional)

background started in 1990 as a passion project by brothers and horror fans charlie and jason glover, graveyard of the damned, as it was originally called, started in the backyard of austen's childhood home, with his uncle jason in charge of construction, and his father overseeing electrical and special effects. the annual haunt became a staple of the neighborhood until charlie's death in 2003. it wasn't until austen grew into an adult that he approached his youngest uncle to open up again, and eventually convinced him to try again in the backyard of his own rental home, this time to similar success. within the first few years the haunt outgrew it's venue, and was eventually relocated to a farm that had belonged to his grandfather's side of the family.

location the farm is located on 125 acres of land in fairfield, ca, and was previously used as a hay field. the only structures on the property prior to dominion of death moving in were a very old barn, which is used to store set pieces and other supplies, and a large farmhouse, which serves as administrative offices during haunt season. the rest of the year, jason resides on the property overseeing the land and looking after the house. during haunt season, he mainly lives in the master suite on the top floor, austen and liz have their room and bathroom to use during late nights, and the living room and dining room is used for offices. the kitchen and groundfloor bathroom are both large and up to date with modern appliances, since they're often used by visiting family and friends. it isn't unusual to find austen's mom, krista, and grandma there on friday and saturday nights putting together huge dinners for the employees.

the haunt having originally been set up in a tent, the haunt itself is now a permanent building, fitted with it's own electrical grid and sprinkler system, and a facade that looks like an old haunted mansion in the front. aside from that it is a completely bare bones building that can be changed and rebuilt as needed to suit the changes they want to make every year. haunt hours are typically 5pm-12am fri-sun in september, october, and the first weekend of november.

the maze backed up against the field is another farm, which maintains the corn maze on the property in exchange for them keeping all the produce at the end of the season. the corn maze is completely family friendly, and is open much earlier than the haunt, usually 3-8 on friday, and 12-8 saturday and sunday. in addition, there is a hay ride from the maze to the neighboring farm during operating hours, where you can purchase pumpkins, other produce, and fresh cider.

other areas & structures free parking in a 300 capacity parking lot is available for free for all attendees, this area is gravel and must often be repaired due to the land being tilled regularly when it was a functioning farm. now, if it rains and you're not parked on gravel, it's very likely that your car will sink into the mud. wardrobe stored in the basement of the house during off seasons, but while the haunt is going on, both it and make up are done out of a new barn that has been constructed on the property and is mean to be an employee area, though they're also of course welcomed to come down to the house to eat on breaks.
